This case study examines how logistics and connectivity are driving economic growth in Indonesia, especially through the rise of e-commerce platforms that empower millions of entrepreneurs, particularly women. By addressing gender gaps and supporting female entrepreneurs, the sector has the potential to grow by over $280 billion in Southeast Asia by 2030. Despite a robust e-commerce market valued at $62 billion, Indonesia still faces challenges in logistics services and gender disparities. To address these issues, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) invested $31 million in PT Adi Sarana Armada (ASSA) to scale up its express logistics subsidiary, Anteraja, a leading digital logistics provider. This investment includes a gender assessment and the launch of the Anter UMKM Sukses program, aimed at supporting women-owned MSMEs through training, coaching, and networking. The program has successfully increased the use of Anteraja’s services, improved business practices, and boosted participants’ incomes and savings. High satisfaction rates and enhanced networking opportunities were reported, underscoring the benefits of aligning gender-focused initiatives with business objectives and the importance of hybrid delivery models for training.
