UNDP, IFC & IPIECA
Together with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and IPIECA (the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues), IFC has released for public review and commenting a draft report on how the oil and gas industry contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The report, titled “Mapping the Oil and Gas Industry to the Sustainable Development Goals: An Atlas,[1]” is currently available for download and the public is encouraged to share their voices and make suggestions to the draft document through an online form during a feedback period that lasts until 14 April 2017. The Atlas explores in detail the impacts the oil and gas industry can have on a variety of global topics covered under the 17 SDGs, which were adopted by the UN General Assembly under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, addressing the most pressing economic, social and environmental challenges.
The document is currently available for public review and comments for further strengthening of the content. The feedback received on the draft Atlas will be taken into consideration for the development of the final version of the report, which is expected to be released in the summer 2017.
Leave your comments on the document through an online form until 14 April 2017.
