Dao Alou is a videographer from Côte d’Ivoire. After 3 years of studies he obtained his professional license in audiovisual production option TV production form Institut des Sciences Techniques de la Communication of Abidjan. He made his first 13-minute documentary on ASEC Mimosas entitled “Plus qu’un Club” (More than a Club) which won the Culture and Entertainment Award (Best Documentary) at the 2014 Africa Web Festival. His second documentary “La reconquete du Titre” (The reconquest of the Title) was released in August 2017 and retraces the 2016-2017 season of ASEC Mimosas crowned as the champions of Côte d’Ivoire. He made his 3rd documentary called “La Confirmation” (The Confirmation . Since 2013, he has directed the digital communication department of ASEC Mimosas.

Daouda Coulibaly is a journalist-blogger from Cote d’Ivoire. He obtained a master’s in journalism from Atlantic University and is considered one of the most influential chroniclers of his country, Côte d’Ivoire. As a defender of freedom of expression, he believes that a journalist is an important and independent voice in the Ivorian press and can help to overcome divisions in the country. In collaboration with the RNW (the International Radio of the Netherlands), he initiated several events in Côte d’Ivoire so that young Ivorians can speak frankly in order to achieve national reconciliation.

Marina Niava is a filmmaker from Cote d’Ivoire. She holds a Master degree in Motion Pictures and Television from San Fransico University. Marina Niava worked as VFX Production Coordinator on the Sci-Fi drama Advantageous (Sundance 2015 Jury Award). Niava’s first short film “Twenty-one” premiered at the Oakland International Film festival in 2014 and is being adapted into a TV series with the support of the IOF Image Fund and TV5 Monde. Marina Niava is also the author of a novel titled American Dreamer which won her the Young Author National Prize in May 2017. She is currently working as Creative Manager for a film distribution company called Cote Ouest.

She is also a University of Michigan African Presidential Scholar and recently graduated with a master’s in development communication from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Her thesis film “Skin Canvas” has screened and received nominations from around the world including the International Student Film and Video Festival in China, Next Reel Film Festival in Singapore and received Best Picture and Best Director at the NAFTI Student Film Festival. In 2017 she produced a series of short films for Newmont on sustainable projects within their mining areas.

Victor Toboh is a documentary filmmaker from Ghana. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Television Production from the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) in Accra, where he majored in documentary film production. From a tender age, he has been very passionate about the creative industry. Victor Toboh was a participant in the StoryLab Ghana (July 2017). In July 2018, he produced and directed “My Journey,” a short documentary film for the World Nomads Travel Scholarship Competition. Ibrahima graduated in master’s degree in Cinema-TV at the Institut Supérieur des Métiers de l’Audiovisuel (ISMA) in Benin, a school whose diplomas are accredited by the “CAMES”. With a view to strengthening its capacities, he worked as director at AfricaToday (TATV) in Conakry. His film “Live a Two When We are Painter”, realized as Work at ISMA is designated as best short film at the third edition of the Festival de Création Cinematographic Festival of Guinea (FCCIG) in 2016. Despite the lack of funding, particularly in the area of Cinema, Ibrahima Bah would like to believe about Ahmed Tidiane CISSE Former Minister of Culture of Guinea who said “It is up to us [African authors] to tell our History, if we wish it to be told with precision”.
